Honeymee
I LOVE honey. Like seriously. It’s sweet, gooey, and melts on your tongue, exploding with flavor! So when I heard of Honeymee, an ice cream shop in Little Tokyo that specializes in its use of honey, I knew I had to try it.
But was it the bee’s knees? Let’s find out.
Flavor 1: The Popular Choice
For the first cup, I tried the Honeymee – true milk ice cream topped with an all-natural honeycomb.

First off, I loved the ice cream’s presentation! Despite its simplicity, the clear cup allowed you to see all the yummy honey gooeyness that was to come. And the dark lettering on the cup stood out nicely against the white ice cream.
The ice cream itself was super creamy! It worked really well with the honey, which would have been too sweet if it was paired with anything else.
My one downside was that the honey became stiff when sitting in the cold ice cream. So the honey and honeycomb were hard until it softened in your mouth. Despite this (and admittedly probably due to my absolute love of honey), I was still a huge fan.
Flavor 2: A Unique Option
The second flavor was called Honey Affogato, which featured a true milk ice cream base drizzled with coffee syrup and honey.

This may seem like a competitive mix of two strong flavors, but it actually worked very well. The true milk ice cream gave a good balance between the coffee and honey, allowing none of the flavors to overtake the overall taste.
And I loved the presentation of this one! The clear cup allowed you to see that the coffee and honey made it all the way to the bottom of the cup. It was not just drizzled on top – which is one of my biggest pet peeves with ice cream toppings.
The Experience

Surrounded by Japanese shops, Asian restaurants, and lively music, Honeymee is located in a super cute area of Little Tokyo. It is definitely in the best area of all my ice cream outings so far, even surpassing Week 1’s Midori Matcha Café, which was in a slightly less exciting area of Little Tokyo.
The shop itself was small and sleek. The workers were nice and gave me a little carrier to hold all of my ice cream in, after I explained I was bringing some back for my roommate!
Lastly, the price was slightly expensive, averaging at about $5 per small cup.

Final Thoughts
Just like first week’s Midori Matcha Café, I love that this shop is in Little Tokyo, because its location offers a lot of other stuff to do while you get ice cream.
Taste-wise, the honey was very delicious against the milk ice cream, but the honey got stiff to eat when cold. Additionally, this ice cream place specializes in true milk ice cream and all-natural honey – which means it is really good at making those things, but there aren’t a lot of other options.
Overall though, I was a fan! I liked the place and its ice cream more than I expected. I will definitely be coming back again.

This looks incredible! I love soft serve and I think some of the best is Magpie’s in Silver Lake. Especially if you like honey comb, you need to go! They have the best honeycomb topping.

My friend and I were driving around and saw this place on Maps and after reading this I’m super bummed we didn’t check it out! As someone who often puts honey in their coffee (would highly recommend), the second flavor sounds amazing.

Ooh yes, definitely check it out sometime if you can – I also had a honey hibiscus tea there that was really good, and they had a coffee milkshake that you may like!

Honey Mee is incredible! I love everything about it haha. The size is not big so you can fit it in even after a sushi meal, and I also like the simplicity of their ice cream. You should try the matcha one if you like matcha, it is amazing too!
